For years, Ag-Bag Boost forage inoculant has been delivering consistent results for producers seeking better fermentation, improved forage quality, and flexible application options.
Reformulated in 2023 with an exclusive four-strain bacterial blend — L. plantarum, P. acidilactici, B. pumilus, and L. buchneri — Ag-Bag Boost is designed to jump-start fermentation and maintain cooler, more stable forage during feedout. Plus, Ag-Bag Boost forage inoculant can be used in Ag-Bags, bunkers, piles, silos, and even baleage.
A Trusted Partner in the Field
Forage Storage Solutions of Luxemburg, WI has a long partnership as an Ag-Bag Dealer. Crop consultant Dustin Ver Voort brings a lifetime of dairy industry experience and has worked with different forage inoculants throughout his career. His firsthand results with Ag-Bag Boost have made the product a standout for both forage performance and dry matter retention.
“Most people do not recognize how much dry matter loss accounts for. You do not see the dry matter loss, but it is there. With Ag-Bag Boost, we are very impressed with the fast fermentation and seeing more forage remaining in spring,” said Ver Voort.
Dry matter loss is often an invisible cost, occurring when aerobic organisms break down carbohydrates in the presence of oxygen. With the inclusion of L. buchneri, Ag-Bag Boost significantly improves aerobic stability by converting lactic acid into acetic acid, strengthening the fermentation profile and reducing spoilage.
Ver Voort was pleased to see that L. buchneri was added into the exclusive four-strain bacteria blend of Ag-Bag Boost.
“We work with a customer who has a large corn silage pile, and they were seeing heating at the face of their forage pile. By utilizing Ag-Bag Boost inoculant, now we are seeing hardly any heating — only when it is a really, really hot summer day. Ag-Bag Boost is helping to keep the environment on the pile stable. We are really happy with the forage quality and the coolness of the forage itself.”
Flexibility That Fits Any Operation
One of Ag-Bag Boost’s greatest strengths is its adaptability. The inoculant works effectively on a wide variety of forage crops — including alfalfa, grass, corn silage, or baleage — eliminating the need to stock multiple inoculant products.
Available in dry, granular, or water-soluble forms — conventional or organic — Ag-Bag Boost easily integrates into any harvesting system.
“Our harvest windows are short, machinery needs to be fine-tuned, and having an inoculant that is easy to apply, easy to mix, and can be used on several different crop types makes Ag-Bag Boost a real benefit to our customers,” explains Ver Voort.
“Ag-Bag Boost is a superior inoculant product, and it has been really paying back to our customers. We have customers that use it in bags, piles, bunkers, silos — whatever they have. We have been very impressed with it,” says Ver Voort.
Ag-Bag Boost is available in an organic formulation as Ag-Bag Boost Organic. The organic version contains organic soybean oil, organic powdered cane juice, and no artificial dyes to meet strict organic feed standards.
Both products are available for the 2026 forage season.
